Shouts! is a project by San Francisco based producer Jason Apple. Taking a break from his Ground Control alias, Shouts! focuses on deeper, more melodic vibes. Following up his remix of Mako’s “Tropicality,” “Do Your Thing” melds lush vocals and pads with clean drum work and throws in a surprise acid line in the second half. “Never Forever” is stripped-back, slow-burn tech house, revolving around crisp orchestral stabs and swelling synths. Finally, “How Does It Feel” cuts through the winter chill with summery stabs and harmonies over an insistent bassline. Commodore 69 ups the tempo and energy with his remix of “How Does It Feel,” warping and chopping the bassline and hook into a hard-nosed tech house jam.
